CHARACTER NAME: Aoko Nakamori
CHARACTER AGE: 17
CANON ORIGIN: Detective Conan/Magic Kaito
CHRONOLOGY: after chapter 33 in Magic Kaito and 920 in Detective Conan
CLASS: Hero
HOUSING: Housed randomly, please
BACKGROUND:
Aoko comes from world where Tokyo Japan is pretty much the murder capitol of the world, though she herself is very rarely around death and murder. She’s the best, childhood friend and love interest of her series protagonist, Kuroba Kaito or, also Kaitou Kid. (please note that Aoko comes from the Series Magic Kaito which takes place in the same universe as the series Detective Conan) Her father is the inspector in charge of Kid’s case as such this leaves Kaito in a very awkward position because Aoko and her father are very much like family to him.
Aoko can be seen as Kaito’s foil, she keeps him in line and she’s one of the only people he’ll actually listen to. He might not act like he’s listening but that’s because they’re both very stubborn children. The bring out the very best and occasionally the very worst in each other with their relentless teasing. Despite the fact they fight pretty much constantly, they have a very, very close relationship. She is unaware that he is actually the infamous thief her father has been chasing for the better part of his career.
The version of Japan that Aoko comes from has four genius teenage detectives and a thief/Magician that has a very impressive fanbase (that thief being the one and only Kaitou Kid) The detectives are Shinichi Kudou (whom she has never met), Heiji Hattori (whom she has never met), Saguru Hakuba (whom is a personal friend of hers, and occasionally attends the same school) and Masumi Sera (who she has also never met)
Wiki Article for Aoko
PERSONALITY:
Aoko Nakamori is, for the most part, a perfectly normal teenage girl attending Ekoda High school with her best friend Kaito Kuroba and their less than normal classmates. She's a kind hearted girl who would do anything for her friends and generally fun and easy to be around as she has no problem making friends, and she'll try and make friends with just about anybody. This includes washed up drunks on beat up boats. Perhaps it's a problem that Aoko is so willing to trust the first person to shake her hand, but she obviously missed the lesson about don't talk to strangers and seems to hold no kind of sense of danger and it has gotten her into trouble on a few occasions.
She's a girl that doesn't take anything from anyone and is quick to tell someone off when they've done something wrong. She's very outspoken and ready and willing to stand up for or to someone at all times. It doesn't matter if it's a friend or a perfect stranger-if they're in the wrong she will let them know about it. This of course, can be contributed to the fact her father is a police officer. Because of who her father is, Aoko feels obligated to do what she can for all those around her and strongly believes in the justice system. The idea that some cops aren't in it because they're good people is new and foreign concept to her.
Aoko can best be described as a child as she is impulsive and doesn't think many actions through, including telling someone off that is clearly bigger and stronger than her. Although, she may be under the impression she's a lot stronger than she looks as Kaito seems to act like a wimp around her. However, she is pretty strong for a tiny school girl. She doesn't think about what she's saying very much and often times blurts out what’s on her mind, even if that's an insult. Aoko is also a very stubborn, and strong willed girl with a hint of curiosity. She's one of those types of people that are always right, even when they're wrong, they're right.
She has no real knowledge of what goes on in the outside word because she's been sheltered by Daddy's white-collar cases and Kaitou Kid's resolve to never steal a life. Not to mention her best friend seems bound and determined to preserve her innocent outlook on the world. She doesn't think for a moment that people may be out to hurt her or others. She doesn't think about the possibility of a trap as evidenced when failed to find it suspicious that she won a contest she didn't enter. She doesn't think of the possibility someone wouldn't have good intentions because anytime she's ever come across something similar she was unaware of persons true intentions as she slept through the entire encounter.
She's like her father in many ways as far as personality is concerned, She's determined to see people do good and wants to see Kid behind bars, the one chapter aside. Like her father, she's a good person but highly temperamental, especially when it comes to her best friend Kaito. He can bring out the best and worst of girl, knowing which buttons to push to get what reaction. She abhors crime and lawbreaking and makes this quite clear as she's never shy to jump on a soapbox and lecture anyone who will listen about how she hates Kaitou Kid and stealing is wrong and lying leads to stealing. More than she hates Kaitou Kid she hates it when people make fun of others that are trying their best. Wh-which is something Kaitou Kid is guilty of.
POWER:
Aoko is 100% human so other than her ability to effectively turn a mop into a threatening weapon her abilities include cooking, cleaning and normal things a teenage girl does. She is frighteningly good at math though.
Aoko is a girl that values truth, honesty and justice and is always encouraging others to do the right thing. For her Super power she is basically the human equivalent of a cheering charm. Being around her can greatly improve a characters mood.
As a secondary power she will have the ability to summon a mop or fish at her discretion. (this will help her to get even when Kaito flips her skirt)

COMMUNITY POST (VOICE) SAMPLE:
[ Nakamori Aoko is feeling a very complex mix of emotions. She’s just been told about her powers and that she has to live here now. She hadn’t really been able to get in a word edgewise as she ushered here and there in that weird building and then just dropped her off at this weird house. It’s left her one part scared, one part confused, one part excited (because superpowers!), but mostly it just left her angry. And now she has words. ]
Aoko doesn’t care if you did give her superpowers to make up for it, Stealing is stealing and kidnapping is kidnapping. It doesn’t matter if you’re government or not because it’s still illegal to take people from their homes. [ She’s pretty sure she was at home, she’s not really sure but that doesn’t make her any less angry. ]
The law is there for everyone to follow and no one is above it, it’s disgraceful your government thinks it can just pick and choose which ones it wants to follow. Aoko has family where you took her from! They’re going to be very upset and you’ll be very sorry.
[ She glares darkly at the device before continuing on, she’s not lecturing the people that brought her here yet. ]
And you can’t just drop people off at weird buildings with strangers and expect everything to be okay! They seem nice-and Aoko doesn’t have anything against them but you probably didn’t warn them either and that’s just rude.
If you brought Aoko here to help you should have just asked! Jeez! She Probably would have said yes. But you’ll never know, because you didn’t! [ And with an irritated huff, she cuts the feed ]
LOGS POST (PROSE) SAMPLE:
Adjusting to her new home wasn’t as difficult as Aoko had thought it would be. She was still mad about being effectively kidnapped but she made fast friends and kept up her usually cheery disposition so long as no one tried stepping on her or anyone else’ toes. And speaking of stepping on toes-she frowned heavily as she watched a slightly large kid picking on a much smaller kid, the larger one holding a book high above his head where the smaller couldn’t get to it. It irked her more than it really should to see this random kid she’d never met before picking on another but the smaller was trying to hard to get his book back his efforts were only being rewarded with cruel laughter.
If there was one thing Aoko hated most it was when people made fun of others even though they were trying their hardest. That kind of determination shouldn’t be laughed at-it should be encouraged and admired. This was something she couldn’t just ignore. She had to help the smaller. The larger boy shouldn’t be allowed to push his smaller classmate around and she would put a stop to it.
Without saying a word, she crossed over to the two, plucked the book out of the bully’s hand and handed it back to the victim before rounding on the other, her eyes flashing dangerously so the boy gulped.
“Don’t pick on other people. You might think it’s funny but you wouldn’t want it to happen to you.” She stated sternly, watching the boy carefully. “Now apologise.” She demanded, stepping back so that the two boys could face each other.
“Why do I have to apologise? You’re not my teacher.” The boy sneered, Aoko glared again and he didn’t look nearly as brave. He cast a nervous glance at the boy he was supposed to be apologising too, who seemed to be waiting expectantly.
“Because it’s the right thing to do.” She kept her voice firm. “And if you apologise and he accepts your apology then you can be friends. It’s better to make friends than enemies.” The bigger boy groaned and realised he wasn’t going anywhere until he apologised. He mumbled something that sounded vaguely like an apology and when Aoko only continued to stare at him he finally spoke up.
“...I’m sorry.” He said, loud enough for her to hear. The second boy grinned.
“It’s okay.” He assured.
That done, Aoko let out a sigh. That was easier than she thought it would be, though they could just be doing as she said because she was an adult to them. “Now play nice.” She gave them one last warning, not liking the dishonest looks she got from both of them.
FINAL NOTES:
The original Manga gave off the impression that though she tried, Aoko just wasn’t all that close with her very busy father. They were very rarely seen in panels together, and Nakamori seemed to almost forget that he even had a daughter by forgetting her birthday and having been unable to recognise her when she’d been dressed up to look a little more adult. Recently, the Manga was adapted into an Anime and that particular bit was retconned. Now Aoko and Kaito are both very close with the Inspector as they often all three have dinner and even watch movies and television together.
